for those who want a book that means something.this is about a boy who is taken from his home in china and is enrolled in oxford university's translation institute. this novel masterfully discusses colonization and imperialism, and how one can become complicit in enabling oppression. each time i reread this book, i discover something new about it that i hadn't noticed before.RF Kuang has my soul and i'm okay with that
